After participating in local and State testing, four Colorado Springs Trampoline Gymnasts represent the entire State at the National Team Jump Start program. Scott Autry (9), Colorado Springs Charter Academy, Ryan Kight (9), Buena Vista Montessori, Dominic McCarron (9), Trailblazer Elementary and Jessica Stevens (8), Mountain View Elementary all received an invitation to this competition that measures strength, flexibility, speed and agility to identify future international level athletes, conducted by USA Gymnastics. Jalliyah Morgan was also selected to attend the National Testing but was not able to attend. Their proud coach Tex Womack explained the Jump Start Program will provide world class training and education for their coaches and athletes as they prepare for the eventual move to the international level. After participating in national testing in Broken Arrow, OK in January, Scott, Ryan, Dominic and Jessica were selected for the 2009 National Jump Start Team in both Trampoline and Tumbling. They will also attend the Jump Start National Team Camp February 19-22 in Huntsville, Alabama.
