Artsports qualifies 2 athletes towards World Championships, Russia

Event: March 6-8, Trampoline & Power Tumbling Winter Classic, Birmingham, Alabama is one of two qualifying meets to the World age group Championships of Trampoline and Power Tumbling in St. Petersburg, Russia, Nov. 7-15 & Nov. 14-22

12 year old Sam Chiacchia won the double mini trampoline event for 14 years and under, dominated the event by more than a 3 point margin. USAGymnastics will take the top two in each event & age group which makes Mr. Chiacchia the # one seed, competing in Las Vegas, Aug 28th of this year. Philip Gifford, competing at the Jr. Elite level, also qualified to the Visa Cup held in Dallas, Texas on 12-16 in Aug. 2009. Both meets are the "Final Selection" events for the World Age Group Championships which overlaps the World Championships. Head coach Richard Womack believes that both athletes will have a great international career ahead of them. This would be both Sam's and Philip's first international competition if they qualify in August.
