Christin Zapp began
her dance training at age 6 in Northern California. After 9 years of classical
ballet, she had the opportunity to explore Jazz, Tap and Modern dance
while attending San Jose State University. She also danced for two exciting
seasons with The American Folk Ballet in Logan, Utah. |

After returning
to college Christin earned her BA Degree in Dance and Theater Arts and
immediately moved to New York City where she trained for two years at
the Merce Cunningham Dance Academy. Upon returning to the West Coast,
Christin joined The State Ballet of Oregon in Ashland, home of the famous
Shakespearian Festival, under the directorship of Eric Hyrst (formerly
Sadler's Wells Ballet and New York City Ballet). The company is best
known for it’s “Ballet in the Park” every Monday night in beautiful Lithia Park. Christin’s favorite
roles were Swanilda in the romantic “Copellia” and one of the stepsisters
in a hilarious version of “Cinderella”. In 1989 Christin
and her husband, Mike moved to Colorado Springs where she joined Ormao
Dance Company, (formerly Jazzworks West) and became a contributing dancer,
teacher and choreographer. In 1991, Gymnastics and Dance of Rockrimmon
was founded and continued to expand to the now 15,000 square
ft. facility of ArtSports, featuring Gymnastics, Trampoline, Cheer and
Dance. |

Although
Christin’s heart and soul is ArtSports, she still finds time to dance with
Ormao and takes several workshops throughout the year to continue learning the
latest techniques and styles of dance.
